EXPERIMENT

Over the years, our practice has given us the opportunity to experiment with new ideas and concepts across various projects. We are pleased to share a selection of these experiments, which we believe deserve your attention and consideration.

These innovations have helped redefine our approach and establish the signature style that sets our work apart.

ROCHE BOUTEILLE

Discover a unique stone formation found in only three sites across Mauritius, most famously at Rochester Falls in Souillac. Known as Basalt Columns, these stones are formed through volcanic lava cooling and contracting, creating stunning hexagonal or polygonal shapes – a geological phenomenon called "columnar jointing." Inspired by the cascading effect of the falls, we’ve used irregularly shaped, earthy-toned stones, arranged in a dry-stacked, staggered pattern to mimic the waterfall's dynamic appearance. This 21m x 4m wall facade brings depth, texture, and a natural charm to the space. The staggered stone and color variations add depth and a natural feel, blending seamlessly with the environment while showcasing the craftsmanship behind its creation. Experience this masterpiece firsthand at the facade of La Vallée des Couleurs Nature Park in Chamouny. We have named this masterpiece as Roche Bouteille, which mean Bottle Stone in English due to its Bottle like form.

ROCHE GALET

This distinctive stone masonry features smooth, rounded river stones arranged in a dry-stacked pattern. The stones vary in size and display earthy tones ranging from light beige to dark gray, adding a natural and organic charm. Each stone is carefully placed to ensure stability while highlighting its unique shape and texture. The result is a timeless facade that blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape and architectural elements. Experience this masterpiece firsthand at the main reception desk of La Vallée des Couleurs Nature Park in Chamouny.

THE CARVED STEP STONE

A single, solid stone, meticulously carved into stepped layers to evoke a striking monolithic appearance. The craftsmanship showcases the skill and precision of the stone cutter, who has transformed the raw material into a functional and artistic statement. The stepped design adds depth and dimension, creating a bold, sculptural effect reminiscent of natural rock formations. This unique stonework serves as a testament to the timeless beauty and versatility of stone in architectural design. Experience this remarkable creation, where simplicity meets craftsmanship, at La Vallée des Couleurs Nature Park in Chamouny.
